Gold prices fall by Rs. 10,000 in local market



Colombo, Nov. 15 (Daily Mirror) - Gold prices in Sri Lanka saw a sharp decline today (15), dropping by Rs. 10,000 compared to the previous day, traders at the Colombo Pettah gold market said.

The price of a 22-carat gold sovereign, which stood at Rs. 315,500 yesterday (14), fell to Rs. 305,200 this morning.

Similarly, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign dropped from Rs. 340,000 yesterday to Rs. 330,000 today, reflecting the overall downward trend in the local gold market.
