Gnanasara Thera’s case over alleged anti-Islam remarks fixed for July 31

Colombo, June 26 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo High Court today ordered that the case filed by the Attorney General against Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Ven. Galagodaththe Gnanasara Thera, over allegedly insulting Islam be recalled on July 31 for a preliminary trial conference.

The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Udesh Ranatunga, as High Court Judge Buddhika C. Ragala was on official leave.

Ven. Gnanasara Thera is accused of making statements deemed insulting to Islam during a media briefing held in Kirulapone in 2016.

Judge Ranatunga directed that the matter be recalled on July 31 for the preliminary trial conference.
