The Colombo High today ordered to release Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentarian A.H.M. Fowzie on bail in connection with a corruption case filed by the Bribery Commission.
The Bribery Commission filed this corruption case against parliamentarian A.H.M. Fowzie for allegedly causing a Rs.1.07 million unlawful loss to the government by misusing a vehicle belonging to the Disaster Management Centre.
Parliamentarian A.H.M. Fowzie was ordered to be released on a cash bail of Rs.25,000 with two sureties of Rs.500,000 by Colombo High Court Judge Nawaratne Marasinghe. Meanwhile, the Court served indictments on the accused and case was fixed for On March 15.
President's Counsel Shavindra Fernando appearing for accused said the defence is expecting to raise preliminary objections against the indictments.(Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

Raising Preliminary objections are unheard in the developed world. With the decision given on the objection the matter will go up in appeal and stalled for a few years

Our politicians protect one another ...all parties do except NPP...UNP; SJB; SLFP; SLPP and some others are all in one ..All are part and parcel of corrupted system that we have inherited since 1948 ..NPP want to change this but all those looted the public money don't want NPP to win . The plot is very much clear.
