Four ministries to function under President

An Extraordinary Gazette has been issued by Secretary to the President stating that four ministerial portfolios will remain under the purview of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Accordingly, Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies, Ministry of Technology, Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment and Ministry of Investment Promotion will function under the president.

Why can't the President take more Ministries and release the ministers saving us our money. Alternatively he can drop the number of Ministers and give a few more ministries. Now that he has 30 State Minsters why does he want to appoint more ministers

RW things that he is a master of all trades. Now he will appoint the party members who were defeated to advisory positions. One should understand his/her capabilities before dictating terms.

Hon President, Please appoint SLAS senior officers to ministries. Please do not appoint university lecturers even if they have academic qualifications such as PhD, Professorship etc, And contractors, Private company people, business owenrs, consultants, NGO agents, politicians etc also should not be appointed as Secretaries of ministries and Chairmen and Board members of institutions. Example : Ministry of Technology and institutions coming under its purview have been unsuccessful in its duty during the last couple of years (during former President tenure even prior to that) due to not appointing a suitabe secretary and Chairmen and Board of Directors. Lectuers may not give output expected. They could talk, make speeches, make presentations but cannot manage institutions. They depend on minor staff to manage/administer ministries/insinstitutions. They cannot coordinate with government institutions and really they are incapable in delivery. Please convey this to Hon President.

MR PRESIDENT doing what best for the nation keeping close eye is a key factor most important portfolios must be monitored before any disaster its a very deficult task but gradually he can make decisions to have the best players in the team it will take time but surly will get there no one can play games with him he is a master of his own people shouldn't worry about mandate leaders who had that have failed in the past....hopefully will bring speedy recovery and prosperity for all....

Good. These portfolios are important and unless you can find someone who is capable to handle them, it might as well not be given to inept ministers who will take kickbacks from foreign investors and contracts.
