I'm aware the useless, arrogant, foreign ministry officials always fly with the high end arlines in business class in tax payers money. Good move.

    The President

Rathinam Navaratnam Thursday, 23 February 2023 03:15 PM

Oh; it has taken so long to make this decision. Good for tax payers, as they do not have to pay anymore for such travel. Journalists have room to educate the officials for the careful use of tax payers money.

This is all raw bullshit for public consumption and rouges will travel as usual in business class

    BuffaloaCitizen Thursday, 23 February 2023 04:56 PM

These are all bullshit directions. Various methodologies are used for circumventing these directions... like security of documents being carried, value of the discussion even though it may not happen and the best one is connection to Ali Baba.

Ranil is a communist! Thursday, 23 February 2023 04:59 PM

Very revolutionary way of thinking! But who will ensure that the directive is implemented? Auditor General? Ranil has started to think like a communist.

About time air travel waste curtailed Thursday, 23 February 2023 07:50 PM

How he is a communist for reducing the cost to the public from air travel of officials. Countries overseas started clamping down on needless official travel a decade ago.

    Buddhist Thursday, 23 February 2023 07:34 PM

If Ranil is honest he too should fly economy. Will he?

Karalasingam Sivalingam Thursday, 23 February 2023 07:56 PM

Very wise action even though it is too late, some delegations to international forms in the past consisted 25 to 50 delegates, opportunities were given to ardent supporters of the ruling party who have had no knowledge of the conference they were attending, the delegates were given hotel accommodation, 7 star hotel meals, this is how our country became bankrupt, the main feature our elected representatives did not have had any knowledge of the country's foreign reserves and what is known as foreign reserves, just shouting at each other in parliament was witnessed by the masses, until the country collapsed. Poor SriLanka.

    Dr. K.K. Ramanayake Friday, 24 February 2023 08:10 AM

President Ranil will say so, but even his domestic servants travel by Business class.
