Five including ‘Lunawe Batti’ arrested in brothel in Moratuwa

Two men and three women including ‘ Lunawe Batti’ have been arrested for operating a brothel under the guise of running a motel that provides temporary rooms in Moratuwa early this morning.

Police said the manager of the brothel fled when the police raided the building.

Police said it was a serious violation of quarantine law to run a brothel at a time when quarantine laws are being imposed.

The arrested were residents of Kalutara, Lunawa and Hambantota aged between 42 and 56. (Reka Tharangani Fonseka)

You better legalise prostitution so you can protect these poor women for criminal pimps. And also it will be easier to check their health etc. Here the prostitues have their own union and have to pay taxes. You can not ban this oldest profession and pretend it does not exist. Protect these vulnerable women
