Colombo, April 27 (Daily Mirror) - While highlighting that the Fiscal Responsibility Act No 33 of 2024 had been violated by sending out funds for a loan borrowed by an Australian agency, the joint opposition yesterday said President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has failed in his duty with regard to the alleged hacking of US dollars 2.5 million.
" President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as the Minister in charge of finance failed in his duty of failing to inform Parliament on the alleged hacking of dollars 2.5 million" former Minister Patali Champika Ranwaka said while highlighting that the matter is actually a theft.
" As it has been informed the incident had actually taken place four months ago. Therefore we wonder what the President had been doing being the minister in charge of Finance" he said.
He said Parliament should have been informed as it is in charge of finance as per the constitution.
