Fair weather, calm seas in and around the island: Met. Dept.

The Meteorology Department said today that the weather would be fair over most parts of the country and the sea.

Wind speed from 40 to 50 km/h is also expected over the North Central, North Western, and Uva provinces, as well as the Hambantota district.

Meanwhile, the department said that fair weather will prevail over the sea areas around the country, and the wind speed will be between 25 and 35 km/h and may gather speeds up to 55 km/h over the sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Colombo via Kankesanthurai, Mannar, and Puttalam and the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambanthota to Pottuvil.

The sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Colombo via Kankesanthurai, Mannar, and Puttalam and the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambanthota to Pottuvil, will be rough at times.
