FIFA lifted the suspension imposed on Sri Lanka today, after Football Sri Lanka (FSL) began the process of conducting an election of office bearers next month.
In a letter addressed to FSL, by Fatma Samoura, the General Secretary of FIFA said FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation would continue to monitor the situation until Sri Lanka conducts its election on September 29.

@Mohan, agree, makes perfect indifference whether Sri Lanka is in or not, we are not exactly renowned to make ripples in world soccer. Most Sri Lankans wouldn't care a tuppence about FIFA or even soccer anyway.
