Colombo, Sept. 7 (Daily Mirror) - Police recovered a cache of explosives and ammunition from a site in Middeniya Thalawa, Hambantota, where chemicals used for manufacturing Crystal methamphetamine were previously discovered.

Police said, officers from the Western Province North Crimes Division, together with the Special Task Force (STF), unearthed five foreign-made hand grenades, 17 rounds of T-56 ammunition and three 12-bore cartridges.

The explosives were found concealed in a freshly dug pit near a manioc cultivation on the property.

Thorough investigation should be carried out to determine whether the explosives for a SLPP violent uprising. If so the culprits should be dealt severely. SLPP knows Namal's presidential dream is all but over and them coming to power is unthinkable. Them resorting to violence and creating chaos is only logical. After all this is the party who formed an illegal government and grabbed power during Sirisena's time.
