Ex- army officer arrested

A former army officer was arrested by the Organized Crimes Unit of the STF along with 1,150 ammunitions.
Police said the 42-year-old suspect was arrested in Godagama area following a tip-off.
The STF recovered 810 ammunitions of .22, 330 bullets of 9MM and 9 bullets of T56 from the suspects' residence.
Investigation revealed that the suspect was an air riffle shooter in the Army. He had moved his residence from Anuradhapura to Godagama recently. (K. Buddhika Kumarasiri)

Does our Army not have systems in place to account for weapons / munitions? It appears so easy for ex-military personnel to smuggle out weapons.

I do not think in any country Armies and Police involve in crimes.It is in Sri Lanka Politicians also behind them to do all sort of crimes and label them as War Heroes
