An Enquiry Centre of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) was declared open today to enhance the capabilities of the port, which plays a pivotal role as a hub port and international trade and shipping center with continuous operational activities.
The Inquiry Center was opened by Ports, Shipping, and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva.
He said Centre has been established with the aim of providing information about the port services in a more expedited and convenient manner for local and foreign customers connected with the Port of Colombo and to educate and acknowledge the public about the port operations.
The center will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering port service information through hotline 1984.
This hotline will be convenient, particularly for individuals engaged in import, export and shipping activities. Moreover, anyone with an interest in the maritime, shipping, and port sectors or those seeking information related to these fields can also access pertinent information via the hotline.
Anyone inquiring for additional information can visit the SLPA Enquiry Centre, at No. 15, Lotus Road, Canal Yard, Colombo 01. Alternatively, inquiries for information can also be submitted via email at [email protected]. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
