Election Commission gives undertaking to hold the LG Election

Now every one is waiting anxiously to find out what the result would be, though everyone can make a fairly accurate guess about what it is going to be.

Whether you need LG elections and LG themselves are different matters to be debated. But, we should give credit to the Election Commission for standing firm and not bowing to corrupt politicians. Yes, the system should change and LGs should be abolished. It is an utter waste of taxpayers funds. But Election Commission should be applauded for being brave and working within the law. In SL, we do not see many public servants doing that. Many public servants(most) are heavily corrupted. Kudos to EC on this one. Hopefully, Judges are with it.
