Duminda Dissanayake released on bail

Colombo, July 14 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo High Court has ordered the release of former Minister Duminda Dissanayake on bail in connection with a case in which he was arrested and remanded for the alleged possession of a gold-plated firearm.

Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne granted bail to the accused, setting a cash bail of Rs. 250,000 and two sureties of Rs. 5 million each, after considering a bail application filed by Dissanayake.

The court also imposed a travel ban on the accused.

In addition, the judge ordered that the two sureties must be residents of the Colombo District.

Duminda Dissanayake rented that apartment at Havelock City is for his illegal pleasure guest house, somany times the Cleaning staff had seen him bringing prostitute women to this apartment. Such people should not be released on bail. Now again he will repeat the same being out freely.
