Delimitation report to be handed over to acting minister

The Delimitation Review Committee headed by Asoka Peiris has decided to hand over the report to Acting Minister Priyankara Jayaratne in the absence of subject minster Faizer Mustapha, it is learnt.

Mr. Peiris said he was short staffed in transportation and computer programming work. He said he was to finish off all the work by yesterday evening.

“I am planning to hand it over to the Acting Minister,” he said.

It is learnt that the elections to the local authorities will be delayed further if the report is delayed. (Kelum Bandara)
