Decision to function schools during the week will be announced today

A discussion will be held today at the ministry whether to function schools during five days of the week or not with the current transport issues, the Education Ministry sources said.

Accordingly, a discussion is scheduled to be held at the ministry with the presence of Minister Susil Premajayatha.

The discussion will be held through the zoom technology with the participation of the ministey Secretary, additional secretaries, including the Ministry Secretary, National Institute of Education (NIE) Director General, directors and provincial directors of education through online.

After reopening schools from last Monday (25), schools functioned on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, as well as to continue with online teaching practices on Wednesdays and Fridays when schools are not functioning. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
