Decision on extending quarantine curfew on Friday: Health DG

The decision whether to extend the present quarantine curfew would be taken on Friday (27), Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardane said today.

He said the decision would be taken at the meeting of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID- 19 Outbreak scheduled for this Friday (25).

Dr. Gunawardane said the decision whether to extend the quarantine curfew would be made based on the deaths and positive cases being reported.

The Government declared a ten-day quarantine curfew until next Monday (30).(Ajith Siriwardana)

Doctor, if you check the photos published in the Daily Mirror there is no quarantine curfew in place. You will see heaps of vehicle on the road. This is nonsense. You will have to extend the curfew without doubt

No one knows whether there is any curfew and one can see people are moving about freely to get their daily needs risking their lives. Situation is becoming bad to worse. Govt and Health authorities make several statements but death and infection rate keeps on increasing at a alarming rate..
