Dayasiri appointed SLFP General Secy

Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara has been appointed the new General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

Speaking to Daily Mirror, Mr. Jayasekara said President Maithripala Sirisena had appointed him to the post and it had been a unanimous decision of the SLFP Central Committee to approve the appointment.

Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa was temporarily appointed the SLFP General Secretary by the party's Central Committee in November last year.

Following a Central Committee meeting that was held this evening, Professor Piyadasa requested that he be relieved of his duties due to time constraints and work commitments due to him working as a university lecturer. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

At least SLFPers can have some hope, if he implement what he talks. If he also keep saying that he will try to bring Mr.Mahinda Rajapaksa and make him the leader of the party, then the match is over and Mr. Dayasiri also will have to pack the bag. Most of these guys, still have not properly understood the desire of the grass root level SLFPers.
