Court orders to pay Rs.30 million as compensation to disabled child

In a landmark verdict, the Colombo District Court today ordered the government to pay a compensation of 30 million rupees to a disabled child due to the negligence of a medical team.

According to information submitted, it was stated that the child's mother had given birth to her as a disabled child at the Gampaha District Hospital due to the negligence of the doctors and staff of the hospital.

This is a great day for pregnant ladies and to all disable children as well. These lawyers have done a great service in this care to get justice for this family . Professional negligence is a big issue in many countries except ours ..how many ladies have died during the delivery in the past. Why not these lawyers argued against these doctors for any medical negligence

Don't those Doctors responsible for this lose there license and certification as Doctors? That needs to happen. This 30m is public money and the citizens of this country are not responsible for the incompetency, lethargy and sheer corruption inside hospitals.
