Commuters can now pay fares using credit, debit cards

Colombo, Nov. 14 (Daily Mirror) - Commuters will be able to pay bus fares using bank-issued credit and debit cards on buses fitted with ticket-issuing machines from November 24, 2025, Minister of Transport Bimal Rathnayake announced today (14).

The Minister made the disclosure while delivering a statement in Parliament, noting that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to modernise the public transport system.
