Committee appointed to probe proposed removal of Deshabandu



Colombo, April 23 (Daily Mirror) - A high-level committee has been appointed to investigate the allegations of misconduct and abuse of power against Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon, according to official sources.

The three-member committee will be chaired by Supreme Court Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, with Court of Appeal Justice Neil Iddawela and National Police Commission (NPC) Chairman Lalith Ekanayake serving as members.

The panel is expected to examine the grounds for the potential removal of IGP Tennakoon and submit its findings to the relevant authorities.
