Colombo Uni student arrested over woman’s murder at Race Course Ground

The police has arrested a Colombo University science faculty student, the suspect believed to be the boyfriend of the woman, who was found killed at the Race Course Ground in Colombo 7 this morning.

The suspect was identified as a resident of Wellampitiya.

Several teams of the cinnamon garden Police have been deployed after the body of the woman was found.

Police said the victim was aged 23 years and was a resident of Homagama. 

The victim was found with deep cut wounds around her neck.

Investigations revealed that the victim was a third year science faculty student at the Colombo University. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
