Colombo Mayor walks with vision-impaired group

Colombo, Nov. 12 (Daily Mirror) - Colombo Mayor Vraîe Cally Balthazaar yesterday (11) joined a group of vision-impaired individuals to raise awareness about the daily challenges they face in navigating the city.

To personally experience their struggles, Mayor Balthazaar walked through parts of Colombo while blindfolded, accompanied by Sugath Wasantha de Silva, Sri Lanka’s first-ever vision-impaired Member of Parliament.

“I am being blindfolded so I understand what it is to be in the city without sight,” Mayor Balthazaar said during the awareness walk.
