President Ranil Wickremesinghe said today that a government can only be changed through a parliamentary election and taking to the streets was not an option for that, the President's Media Division said.
The President made this remark while participating in the Air Force cadets and other officers Passing Out Parade at the Trincomalee Air Force Base today.

Who wants local govt elections? Parliamentary elections is the best answer to present various crisis, so dissolve parliament and announce election date. You can remain President, not even a single person has objection, on the contrary you are liked by everyone.

Ranil, not elected by the people, is afraid of free democratic elections and knows if they happen he will lose them! The Sri Lankan people only recognize him as the vicarious agent of the Rajapaksa and his SLPP! Taking to the streets is always a democratic option when the rulers act against the will of the majority of the people, refuse elections and do not keep promises and agreements!
