Canadian national nabbed with over 21kg of Kush at BIA



April 3, Katunayake (Daily Mirror) - A 42-year-old Canadian national was arrested by the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) early this morning. The arrest took place at the arrival terminal following a specialized operation conducted by the airport unit of the PNB.

They intercepted the suspect shortly after his arrival on a flight from Bangkok, Thailand. Upon a detailed inspection of his luggage, officers discovered a significant quantity of "Kush" cannabis, meticulously concealed within several containers. The total weight of the seized narcotics was confirmed to be 21 kilograms and 779 grams.

Following the discovery, the suspect was taken into police custody for further questioning.
