The government had approved paying the salaries of non-executive state sector employees on time and delaying the salaries of executive grade staff by a few days.

The decision was announced during the weekly cabinet meeting, and it was made in light of the government's current financial situation.

It was revealed that the 2023 revenue proposals have been implemented. It would take some time for revenue generation, and the government has decided to manage its expenses beginning from January 2023.

And thus, the cabinet has approved delaying the salaries of executive-grade staff by a few days. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

Meantime you should plan a government staff laying off plan. Identify non essential sectors, sectors that can run with minimal supervision and sectors which can be automated. Then identify who can be laid off. Then inform as well but do not immediately terminate as they too will have various commitments. For example send letters saying you will be laid off after 6 months from this day an give them another 3 to 6 months salary. So that would sortout the matter. Also within that 6 months give opportunity to learn two or three free job or self based business oriented courses so that they cannot give excuses.

from the frying pan to the fire. Great stuff you inefficient politicians. Don't you think that executive staff also have to eat and drink? Why don't you delay and reduce the salaries and perks of the useless politicians who have ruined this country? What right has the Cabinet has to decide our fate? have you recovered laundered money?

Manage expenses by delaying salaries of executive grade staff for a few days? That seems to be so stupid. The sad fact is that there are no high level financial experts in the public sector and the finances are still managed by persons using the Financial Regulations and accounting systems that are miserably outdated. In short, the public sector is sadly lacking in vision and enlightenment brought about by being forces to be submissive to the whims and fancies of uneducated politicians.

working private sector cannot maintain inefficient, corrupted government servants. Deduct salaries of non essential government servants by 50% . private sector lived with 50% salary during Covid period
