Colombo, Dec. 16 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet Ministers has approved appointments to two senior positions in Sri Lanka’s state administrative services, following recent vacancies.
P. A. S. Athula Kumara, who served as Director General of the Department of State Enterprises, retired from government service on December 3, 2025, leaving the post vacant. In response, the Cabinet approved a resolution submitted by the President in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Policy Planning and Economic Development to appoint B. A. T. Rodrigo, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Accountants Service currently serving as Additional Director General of the same department, to the position at the earliest possible date.
Similarly, the post of Director General of the Department of Project Management and Supervision became vacant following the appointment of S. S. Mudalige as Deputy Secretary to the General Treasury. Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the President’s resolution to appoint S. H. V. Kumara, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Planning Service serving as Additional Director General, to this role without delay.
Both appointments are expected to strengthen leadership in their respective departments and ensure continuity in government operations.
