The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has far more pressing tasks to address than showcasing a so-called “Declaration of Emergency Disaster Response Period.” The foremost concern is the Marine Drive stretch from Colpetty to Wellawatte, which remains without proper street lighting — posing a serious danger to both motorists and pedestrians. In addition, many roads across the city are in a deplorable state and urgently need repair. This over to the attention of the Mayor.
