CID offers Rs. 2Mn reward for info on wanted suspect

Colombo, May 25 (Daily Mirror)- The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) announced a reward of Rs. 2 million for information to arrest a suspect who is wanted in connection with a special investigation carried out by the CID.

Police sought public assistance to arrest the suspect, Jerad Pushparaja Osman Jerad who is a resident of Dematagoda.

Police released a photograph of the suspect and request the public to provide information on the suspect over the following telephone numbers: Director (CID) via 071-8591753 or OIC of Criminal Investigation Department via 071- 8591774.

Someone in the Dematagoda area will come forward and claim the reward, with the enlarged picture those who live in the neighborhood and areas around will definitely be able to identify him. Wonder what investigation, drugs, money laundering or the likes.

When is CID planning to haul those corrupt government officials and politicians to court. Initiate similar rewards for whistleblowers with concrete evidence and payment done once the officials are sentenced in court within a reasonable timeframe and not dragging it on for years as currently practiced.
