Bus driver remanded over fatal Thalawa accident
Colombo, Nov. 12 (Daily Mirror) - The bus driver involved in the Thalawa Jayagaha accident has been remanded until November 18.
The tragic incident, which occurred on the afternoon of November 10 in the Thalawa Jayagaha Junction area of Anuradhapura, claimed the life of a school student and left nearly 50 others injured.
Police said the accident happened when the private bus overturned while giving way to a motorcycle. The driver was subsequently arrested and produced before the court.
