Bus collision in Naula leaves 11 injured



Colombo, April 26 (Daily Mirror) - A serious road accident occurred this morning (26) in the Naula–Nalanda area along the Dambulla–Matale main road, involving a private bus and a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus.

According to the police, the collision took place at around 9.20 a.m., leaving eleven passengers injured. The injured were admitted to the Nalanda District Hospital and the Matale Hospital for treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that one of the victims is in critical condition.

Police have arrested the driver of the private bus in connection with the incident, while the SLTB bus driver has fled the scene.

Meanwhile, the Speaker, who was travelling to Colombo via the Kandy route at the time, is said to have assisted in transporting the injured passengers to hospitals following the accident.

The Naula Police have launched further investigations into the incident.
