Break failure halts Colombo-Kandy train at Alawwa



The intercity express train to Kandy from Colombo Fort suffered a brake failure when it reached Alawwa this morning, the railway control room said.

They said the train left Fort railway station at 7.00 am and due to a sudden break failure the train could not proceed and came to a halt at Alawwa.

Subsequently, the train was hauled to the Polgahawela railway station, the control room said. (CS)
