Asanka Gurusinha would be appointed as the Chief Cricket Operations Officer with effect from May 15, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) CEO Ashley de Silva told Daily Mirror today.

Yesterday, he said the election to elect new office bearers for the Cricket governing body would be held on May 19.

The SLC President and Gura both are from the same school. The issue is whether Gura is suitable for the post and also whether Gura has any control on the coach. If he has control over the coach the days will be numbered for Hathurusinghe
