Colombo, August 22 (Daily Mirror) - “Our government pledged to bring all wrongdoers before justice, regardless of the positions they held. We have kept that promise,” Minister of National Security Ananda Wijepala told Parliament minutes after news of the arrest of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe was released.

“Investigations into all serious incidents, such as the Easter Sunday attacks, are progressing. The probe into the killing of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda is ongoing, while the investigation into the assault on journalist Keith Noyahr has been completed,” he added.

Your PROMISE was to bring back billions of stolen money and run the country with them. Not to chase behind a debatable Rs16m alleged misuse or a fraudlently assembled and registered car by the dead man Lohan. These too needs to be done, but they are not the priority. Ranil is accused of murder during the Batalanda days and just before Sinhala new year a big noise in the parliament. Since then no noise. Nelson Mandela too was in prison and it boosted his image.

You gave us hope that Cost of Living, Taxes, 18% VAT Price of Rice will come down and the farmers will get a good price for the paddy. The large scale robberies like Keheliya were done by the previous Govt. So you are just bullshxtting the mases with these sensational yet low value crimes. Bullshxt took you to the top but it wont help you to remain there. Your moral compass (Malimawa) is not working correctly.

Commendations to the President as Ranil Wickremasinghe like the rest of them is not above the Law. He may have been instrumental in the recovery of the country in times of extreme financial difficulty but he is also culpable of other liabilities and authoritative excesses while in power most of all the neglect to bring the Rajapaksas and their allies who totally and indiscriminately defrauded the Nation financially where there again it was Mahinda Rajapaksa's Government that overran the Tamil Tiger threat and liberated the nation from a veritable disaster. Case in point being "No One Is Above The Law" and let the Law of the Land decide how to deal with Wickremasinghe who had no Carte Blanche to help himself to the Taxpayers money a concept which many politicians seem to be taking for granted throught the recent political history of Sri Lanka which needs to be stopped!.
