Appointments to State institutions: Six-member committee appointed

A six-member committee has been appointed on a directive of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to submit recommendations on the appointment of qualified and suitable persons to statutory boards and State-owned enterprises (SOEs), Presidential Media Unit said.

The committee, headed by senior public officer Sumith Abeysinghe includes Susantha Ratnayake, Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Dian Gomez, Dr. Prasanna Gunasena and Prof. Jagath Wellawatte.

The Presidential Secretariat has called for expressions of interest from suitably qualified professionals to submit their expressions of interest by December 18, 2019.

Whatever it is a good move. Someone have to start somewhere. Atlease if we can make half of the appointments according to merits that would be a great achievement to the country.
