The new date for the Local Government elections would be announced before March 9, the Elections Commission announced today.
The Commission said a suitable date for the LG polls would be decided following a discussion with the Finance Ministry and other relevant institutions based on today's Supreme Court ruling.

Who is the EC to be above the law. The change of members is authorised by parliament (and the law). The various Commissions who are paid by the public cannot beyond public accountability. Already the judges are delaying paying their taxes, by taking up petition by judges not to pay increased taxes, and keep putting of the petition, thereby delaying hearing it, which would result in them having to pay the outstanding taxes.
