Allocate at least Rs. 15 billion for disaster relief: Harsha

The funds allocated for disaster relief are not sufficient as at least Rs. 15 billion is needed for relief, especially for capital expenditure, MP Harsha de Silva told Parliament today.

"I am making this comment as the head of the Committee on Public Finance," he said, while highlighting that only Rs. 800 million has been allocated for capital expenditure at the moment.

Stop trying to political points. It’s is still raining and government’s allocation is still an initial amount. Of course extra can/will be allocated when the real damage to infrastructure (capital) is known
