Ajith Vs Asitha argument over Opposition Leader and sister

Colombo, June 26 (Daily Mirror) - An argument popped up in Parliament today between Opposition MP Ajith P. Perera and ruling party MP Ajith Niroshana over a case involving Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa's sister.

Opposition party MP Ajith Perera dismissed the claim made by the ruling party MP that Premadasa's sister Dulanjali Jayakody was charged with possessing forged currency notes.

"Some who borrowed money from Ms. Jayakody returned. Ms. Jayakody only found out that there were forged notes only after she went to a bank to deposit the cash. The ruling party MP was lying," he said.

MP Niroshana who responded, said it was the then Police spokesman who came up with the allegation against Ms. Jayakody. Also, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa said in public that he intervened to settle the case as late President Ranasinghe Premadasa had rendered a great service to the nation.
