SJB MP Ajith Mannapperuma was suspended for four weeks as per Standing Order 77(3) for grabbing the mace in Parliament.

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, who announced the suspension, also directed other MPs to maintain the decorum in the House. (Yohan Perera)

As per view the wrong action was the MP Tiran ,that was the beginning he has directly disobey the Hon.Speaker, the reaction taken by the opposition and it's reasonable Speaker should not given such a decision.

This law should be applied impartially to all parliamentarians. Also there should be law to suspend MP membership if they repeat more than 3 times. This is the only way to educate these 2nd class politicians.

Usual story under this speaker, all this becos Tiran Alles refused to answer. So no way for opposition but try to throw out Speaker as he takes govt side always.
