Air Astana today launched four direct charter flights weekly between Kazakhstan and Colombo, Airport and Aviation Sri Lanka said.
They said the inaugural flight landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 12.50 hrs today with 165 international tourists.
Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) welcomed the inaugural flight with a water cannon, and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Bureau had organized a traditional dancing performance to welcome the airline crew and the passengers. The flights will operate till April 2024.
