Colombo, Nov. 7 (Daily Mirror) - The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has introduced an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot to make vocational education information more accessible to students.
The new digital service is part of the ‘1966’ Vocational Education Hotline, which was launched yesterday (06) at the Nipunatha Piyasa premises in Narahenpita under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
The AI chatbot, developed by the Ministry’s technical officers, enables users to find answers to questions related to vocational training and career guidance in Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
Speaking at the launch, Prime Minister Amarasuriya emphasized that the integration of modern technology into vocational education is key to preparing youth for the evolving job market. She added that under ongoing education reforms, the focus is on improving both human and physical resources to meet future industry demands.
