43 SL illegal immigrants nabbed in Java

Police detained more than 100 illegal immigrant including 43 Sri Lankas in Cianjur, West Java, on the highway leading to southern coast of Java on Thursday, media reports said.The illegals had used a truck and five minibuses and were stopped after police officers noticed cars with suspicious foreign passengers, the authorities said.
Seperately 43 more illegal immigrants from Sri Lanka were nabbed on the Sindangbarang highway in South Cianjur.
The immigrants used a road via South Cianjur to the southern coast of Java from which they planned to cross to their final destination -Australia`s Christmas Island- police said.
Police added the immigrants would to be handed over to immigration authorities in Sukabumi. (Source: Antara)
