3 arrested with 38 packets of heroin

The Welikada Police arrested a 32-year-old woman and two other suspects who were alleged to have had in their possession 38 packets of heroin each weighing 40 milligrams.

The arrest was made by a fourteen-member police team led by the Police Inspector D.D. Ajith Shantha of the Walana Anti-Vice Squad on the instructions of DIG Ajith Wickramasekera, ASP Prashantha and the Walana Anti-Vice Squad OIC IP Balasuriya with the assistance of three sniffer dogs while the woman was in a house on Arunodaya Mawatha in Rajagiriya. The suspects were produced in the Aluthkade Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Chaturanga Pradeep)
