21-year-old woman found dead near Ratnapura dam

Colombo, Nov. 17 (Daily Mirror) - The body of a 21-year-old woman was discovered floating near the dam of a small hydroelectric power plant in the Rathgama Water Canal, within the Wewelwatte Police Division, Ratnapura.

Police identified the deceased as a resident of Ratnapura. Initial investigations suggest that she had traveled to Ratnapura town to collect her Aswasuma from a bank and may have fallen victim to a crime while returning home.

Authorities also reported that some of her clothes were found near the site where the body was recovered. The police have launched a detailed inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her death.
