138 route on strike tomorrow

All buses in the 138 Homagama to Pettah route will be on strike tomorrow, said President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association, Gemunu Wijerathne.

According to Wijerathne the private buses will refrain from operating in the high-level road to express the private bus owners’ objection, to the bus permits that have been issued wrongfully by Private Transport Services Minister C.B. Ratnayake. (Sarasi Paranamanna)

Bus Mafia strikes again. passengers are held hostage. Time for a major blitz on highway offences on the same route, and even check for road worthiness of these private buses, and cops should be handing out heavy fines.

Time to increase the CTB fleet and slowly phase out our dependence on the private bus mafia. These morons always hold the public to ransom regardless of the inconvenience and hardships they cause by their strikes for petty and selfish reasons.

This is a joke.

Minister do a wrong thing. The public is punished. If Gemunu feels that the minister has done something wrong. Then he should take legal action.

The government should be tough with these idiots. If they don't work the government should take the buses and use the Army to run it for the convenience of general public. Then only they will learn a lesson.
