Thirteen new Sri Lankan Ambassadors including former Minister Dr. Karunasena Kodithuwakku have been appointed today.

Dr. Kodithuwakku has been appointed as the Ambassador to China while Priyani Wijesekara to Austria, D.S.L. Pelpola to Italy, Darshana Perera to Indonesia, A.L.M. Lafeer to Jordan, K.W.M.D. Karunaratne to Myanmar, A.M. Thaseem Saudi Arabia, Sunil De Silva to South Africa, Nimal Weeraratne to Singapore and C.M. Anzar has been appointed as the Ambassador to Turkey.

What about Maldives? Ever since Mr. Neil Dias was called back to Colombo 10 months back the Maldives has been without a head for its diplomatic mission in that country.

It is sad for not appointing any one from Tamil minority .Are they not educated ? But they have been backing Ambassadors to do their jobs properly......!

Dr. Kodituwakku is an Educated professor/Cabinet Minister who excelled as a Diplomat as the Ambassador to Japan. He deserves the all important position as Envoy to China and hopes he makes an impact in the relationship!!!
