Five French Nationals on a Habarana Elephant Safari were admitted to the Habarana Hospital after falling from the elephant they were riding. A hospital spokesman said four of them left the hospital as they had minor injuries while another was still getting treatment as his condition was serious.

At least 17 soldiers were injured when a military track ran off the road near the 5th milepost in Thanamalwila this afternoon. Military spokesman Ruwan Wanigasuriya said the injured soldiers were admitted to the Embilipitiya hospital and their conditions were not serious.
