Sri Lanka women’s team coach, Hemantha Devapriya has tendered his resignation with immediate effect. His resignation comes in the wake of embarrassing four-wicket defeat by the women’s players against Thailand
Devapriya was the coach of the Women’s team since October 2016 and had cited personal reasons for his resignation.
His contract is due to expire in October 2018.
“Whilst thanking Devapriya for his services, SLC will start the process of engaging a new coach to take the women’s team forward’’ said Ashley De Silva, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket.
