Suspect who had link with Zahran handed over to TID: Police

The suspect who was arrested on April 27 for having closer connections with the terrorist group who committed attack on the Easter Sunday April 21 had been handed over to the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) yesterday for further questioning, police said.  


They said the suspect was arrested in Dharga Town, Aluthgama by the officials of the Aluthgama Police for having connections with the terror attack suspects.  


The suspect was identified as Muhammad Bashir Muhammad Fazhan and police investigations revealed that the suspect had been having close connections with the National Thawheed Jamaat (NTJ) leader Mohamed Zahran Hashim who was killed in the Colombo Shangri-La hotel blast on Easter Sunday.
