Akmeemana school shooting victim’s spouse offered employment

The wife of Pradeep Udaya Kumara (39) who was killed by a soldier on duty at the Akmeemana Upananda school grounds had been offered employment and his three children admitted to different schools as decided by the government.   


In addition, after an examination of the police reports, the possibility of granting them compensation was also to be considered.   


The wife of the late Pradeep Kumara, T. U. T. Kumari (38) and the three children were brought to Parliament yesterday by the Galle District MP Wijayapala Hettiarachchi and they were met by the Prime Minister, Sate Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene and Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.   The three children were in grades 10, 2 and 1 respectively at the Akmeemana Upananda school.
